Link work instructions to a process step

Work Instructions can be linked to specific steps in a process. This allows you to refer to the same Work Instruction across various Processes, as well as provide some more personalised direction to staff within the Process.

It is not possible to link the Work Instruction when editing the Work Instruction. The link needs to be made while editing the Process.

Important

If the process already has a draft version (or a version that is awaiting approval/publication) please open this version to edit NOT the older published version. You will not be able to create a second draft by opening the published version.

  • All Steps view – on the right-hand side of each step.
  • Step-by-step view – click on the step you wish to edit, then edit step can be found underneath the step’s text.
  • Map view – the edit step page can be found by clicking edit sequence then click on a step and click Edit Details.

You can now see the work instruction linked to the step.

Click on work instruction, it will open as a pop up.

Link work instruction within text

Work instruction can be added in policies and processes as a reference link within text using “insert”.
